Mitsu-Mopar VIN decoding

Beginning with their introduction in 1971 through 1980, the Mitsubishi imports used a 13-character Chrysler VIN format.   Some of the VIN positions, such as engine code and year, were very consistent in their definition.  Others, such as transmission and trim codes, changed from year to year, even model to model.  Because of this it would be impractical to build a single chart to cover all years.  Instead, I will start by covering several typical years, maybe eventually having a chart for every year.  If allowed, I may eventually present scanned images of the actual published charts.
